She, she is a hunter,
Bears an arrow ‘cross her back,
Soul has golden spirit,
Walks the long way looking back.
When she sleeps, she thinks about the rain.
She believes in wonder,
Open arms out, t’wards the sun,
Heart bold as a lion,
Restless feet were bound to run.
When she sleeps, she thinks about the rain.
Thoughts in dark circles lingering.
Take this tiny body,
Tie a knot into a string,
And keep, keen on watching,
You will see it fade away.
When she sleeps, she thinks about the rain,
thoughts in dark circles lingering.
She, she is a hunter,
Bears an arrow ‘cross her back.
Tip toe towards me don’t ever let me go,
One by one we will shoot the crows,
And you know, you’ll never know.
Tap my window, I will let you in,
You can try to understand,
But you won’t, no you wont.
What if you were more than just the sum of all your parts?
What if you were more than you and me?
No longer drifting in a sea of broken hearts,
But floating free, floating free.
You’re not counting but you’re losing count,
You’re no judge but your jury’s out,
And it's not what it’s not.
What if you were more than just the sum of all your parts?
What if you were more than you and me?
No longer drifting in a sea of broken hearts,
But floating free, floating free.
Floating free,
Floating free,
Floating free,
Floating free.
What if you were more than just the sum of all your parts?
What if you were more than you and me?
No longer drifting in a sea of broken hearts,
But floating free, floating free.
What if you were more than just the sum of all your parts?
What if you were more than you and me?
No longer drifting in a sea of broken hearts,
But floating free, floating free, floating free.
Boy you're a thief,
A master of illusion,
Started a game,
You ended up losing.
Feeding the fire,
Stifled the burning,
Insatiable hunger,
Incapable yearning.
You are made from skin and bone,
Marking out the road map as you go,
How will the river flow?
The more you learn, the less you find you know.
And I might be falling apart,
But I'm taking this heart and I'm working it hard.
So I can go back to the start,
Though I'm broken and scarred but I can see in the dark.
I can see in the dark.
The turning over days,
The words have gotten lost,
Or have they been misplaced?
And if so, at what cost?
You are made from skin and bone,
Marking out the road map as you go,
How will the river flow?
The more you learn, the less you find you know.
And I might be falling apart,
But I'm taking this heart and I'm working it hard.
So I can go back to the start,
Though I'm broken and scarred but I can see in the dark.
I can see in the dark.
Take all these broken pieces, and fit them together.
Fix them with gold and wait for a brighter day.
And I might be falling apart,
But I'm taking this heart and I'm working it hard.
So I can go back to the start,
Though I'm broken and scarred but I can see in the dark.
I can see in the dark.
And I might be falling apart,
But I'm taking this heart and I'm working it hard.
So I can go back to the start,
Though I'm broken and scarred but I can see in the dark.
I can see in the dark.
Oh, I can see in the dark.
Oh, I can see in the dark.
I can see in the dark.
I can see in the dark.
I can see in the dark.
Waiting with one eye open,
In case your mind,
Waiting with heart wide open
One more time.
I’ve been self-destructive,
I’ve argued myself blind,
The wolf can be so cruel, the lamb so kind.
Trying to move myself up stream,
But finding that I’m in between,
Everything is closing in on me.
Trying to keep my head on straight,
But find that I am running late,
For everything that I aspired to be.
My mother said,
I would never love,
If I always chased thrill.
I realise now-
Perhaps I never will.
Well maybe I’m just hungry
For something I can’t find.
This world holds so much treasure
And I have such little time.
Trying to move myself up stream,
But finding that I’m in between,
Everything is closing in on me.
Trying to keep my head on straight,
But find that I am running late,
To everything that I aspire to be.
My mother said,
I would never love,
If I always chased thrill.
I realise now-
Perhaps I never will.
Trying to move myself up stream,
But finding that I’m in between,
And everything is closing in on me.
Trying to keep my head on straight,
But find that I am running late,
To everything that I aspire to be, to be, to be.
My mother said,
I would never love,
If I always chased thrill.
I realise now-
Perhaps I never will.
My mother said,
I would never love,
If I always chased thrill.
I realise now
Perhaps I never will.
Oh my love, oh my love, love, love, oh my love
Oh my love, oh my love, love, love, oh my love
In the morning I’ll be with you
‘till darkness goes away,
And I will never let you,
Let your dreams fade away
Oh my love, oh my love, love, love, oh my love
Oh my love, oh my love, love, love, oh my love
Birds confined to cages,
Will never learn to sing,
So let’s rewrite these pages,
Just remember poets ruin Kings.
And I will keep you warm,
And I will keep you warm,
And I will keep you warm, ahh.
Oh my love, oh my love, love, love, oh my love.
She packed up her dresses,
Folded them neatly away.
The hat on the hook by the door,
Seemed to watch her and say.
It’s the last time you’ll walk on this floor,
One last turn of the key in the door.
She looked round one last time and she wondered,
Had there been more?
The Taxi had pulled up outside,
Awaiting her fare,
Sat a long time and he wondered,
Is anyone there?
One more fare or one less is the same,
But then out of the darkness she came,
Just one suitcase she held in her hand,
All that’s left to her name.
Driver just one final ride,
For you see this is my final night,
For I’m moving into the last place
I’ll ever reside.
The driver he looked at her face,
It was weathered by time,
He knew what she meant when she said
It was her final ride
So he took her the long way through town,
Up the side streets, the main roads and down,
To the places she knew in her youth,
A memory now.
The lights they shone brighter,
Than anything that she’d seen before,
As the sun started coming up,
The taxi arrived at her door,
She said thank you for what you have done,
For my one final ride in the sun,
And with that she just opened the door
And she was gone.
And the driver he never forgot,
The old lady and what she had taught,
That the power of kindness and love,
Well its all that we’ve got,
It’s all that we’ve got.
